Key Stage 5

In Key Stage 5, we offer Art and Design, Textiles and Photography at AS and A2 level.

Art & Design (Edexcel)

AS Level - Moor to Shore

Students undertake sketchbook work, sheet work and experiments around the central theme.  During the year they visit London art galleries, and take their sketchbooks around the local area (excellent work was produced during a trip to Louis' Tea Rooms on Kit Hill).

Two final pieces, in 2D and 3D, are produced expressing the students' experiences of the theme.

There is an exam unit with an open-ended theme allowing students to respond to the brief personally.  (Example: Fantasy and Imagination)

A2 Level - Portfolio Unit

Fully supported and guided, students write their own brief, playing to their own strengths, with a variety of practical-based activities to build up their skills.
