Personal Enhancement Programme

The PEP programme is unique to Callington Community College. We believe that no other school in the country is providing such a wide variety of enrichment activities.

Aims of the PEP programme

• To develop students' wider key skills (working with others, improving their own performance and problem-solving) in preparation for modern day life

• To develop different styles of learning

• To embed the habits of healthy living

• To support learning in other areas of the college

• To challenge students and give them opportunities to move outside their ‘comfort zone'

• To encourage students to engage in after college clubs

• To raise levels of self-confidence and students' aspirations

How the PEP programme works

• Students take part in a PEP activity every Friday afternoon from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.

• Every five/six weeks the PEP activity will change for every student (a new timetable will be issued every half term). Therefore, students will take part in six different activities throughout the academic year.

• Students choose ten activities (four reserve choices)
