In March 2012 the Year 10 and 11 Geography GCSE students went to Newquay to conduct the research for their Controlled Assessment.
Over the two days students completed a number of tasks, including interviewing members of the public, assessing the quality of the environment at various locations, carrying out questionnaires with local businesses and identifying the reasons why people choose to holiday in Newquay.
Students stayed overnight in the YHA in Fowey where they were fed, watered and provided with a film night (courtesy of Mr Pring!). The trip was rounded off with the presentation of awards with winners including Tom (year 10), for getting an interview with a local policeman, Chantelle, Emily & Chloe P (year 10) for getting the most respondents to the questionnaires, Jess (loudest) and Kev (largest bag!!)
The students were a credit to the college and are now analysing the data collected for their coursework.
