College hosts Fireworks Spectacular

Once again the fireworks display was a great success...

Every year, Callington Community College plays host to the town fireworks display, presented to the community by Ginsters Of Cornwall and Callington Town Council.  The display is renowned for its excellence.

This is the 14th year that the College has hosted the display, and people flocked from far and wide to witness this spectacular event.  Callington Portreeve and Mayor, Mrs Karen Gold, opened the show and counted down to the start of the display on Pirate FM local radio.

A collection made during the evening  was divided between charities chosen by the College and by Ginsters.  £500 was donated to Children's Hospice South West, and £500 to the Cots for Tots Appeal.

Special thanks go to Callington Police, the Fire Service, St John's Ambulance, the Rotary Club and Lions Club, for their support and assistance.
