Accompanied by Mr Plunkett and Mrs Oakes, two teams took part in the Challenge.
Their task was to pick a new species for the zoo, choose a suitable enclosure site and then work out costs for building a suitable enclosure and marketing the new addition to the zoo. Finally each team had to give a presentation to the zoo's management team explaining their rationale and their costings.
Our teams were up against business studies students from Newton Abbott College but they rose to the challenge and did themselves proud.
Finally Team Callington were announced as winners with their plans for a new tamarind enclosure. They all won a year's pass to the zoo. Team Simples also gave an excellent presentation on a proposed snow leopard enclosure and won day return passes to the zoo.
All in all an excellent time was had by all and we shall be back to take up the challenge again next year!
