Friday 22nd June - approximately 30 students went for a ‘taster' day down to the Tremough Campus of Exeter University. They had subject lectures/session in the morning in various areas including medicine, science, art & design, photography and politics. In the afternoon they had sessions on statements, finance and university life.
Mock Interviews - From Monday 25th June all year 12 students have had a ‘mock interview'. Professionals in the field they want to study/work in are matched as far as possible to students and then interview them. Interviewers also provide feedback on the process for use in ISIs.
Wednesday 27th June - Year 12s attended a Pre-University study skills day. This is a course from The University of East Anglia. Sally Humphries (Head of Sixth Form) went on the initial course this academic year and the week before had trained a group of year 12 tutors to deliver it. We have delivered half the programme and student feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
Thursday 28th June - a successful first induction day for our new Y12 students. They attended introductory subject sessions as well as having general information about 6th form issues.
Friday 6th July - Sixth Form Leavers day. Year 13 had a brilliant last day. A buffet, followed by a formal presentation of awards completed their CCC career. This was followed by a wonderful evening at the China fleet Club; a formal meal with speeches by Sally Humphries and Tamsyn Strange, a slide show of photos and dancing till midnight.
