The Challenge involves teams of six students navigating and walking a set route across Dartmoor completely independently, carrying enough equipment to camp out for a night. They start at Okehampton Army Camp at 7.00am on the Saturday morning and have to return to the army camp by 5.00pm on the following Sunday.
This year our 35 mile team made it to their 7th tor on the Saturday evening, having walked about 22 miles. They camped there and got up at 5.00am on the Sunday, finally making it back to camp by 1.50pm. The 45 mile team coped extremely well with the challenge of walking the extra ten miles, arriving back at Okehampton at 3.08pm, and the 55 mile team performed superbly as a team, reaching the finish line by 4.20pm, completely shattered but very delighted to have completed!
All three teams did themselves and the College proud, showing incredible determination, fitness and team spirit. Well done guys!
