College Catering Facilities

The college's catering facilities are in-house so we have complete control over what we serve

This gives us the freedom to buy where we want to, and being a community college giving business to the community is our first concern which is why we buy our produce locally.

Suppliers that we use include:

  • Davidstow Cheese
  • Vegetables from Tamar Fruiterers at Hatt
  • Meat from Tamar Valley Butchers at Gunnislake
  • Bottled water from Hall Manor at Launceston
  • Pasties from Blakes at Liskeard
  • Dry goods from Chaffins at Redruth
  • Frozen goods from Dobles at St Agnes
  • Pasta Bar from Newton Abbot

From September 2003 our catering facilities changed so we could try and encourage students to sit down and have a proper meal, instead of eating standing up by staggering the amount of students eating at one time. We have also started to buy organic produce, but this is controlled by price on how much we buy in. We were able to have organic potatoes from September to May.

The catering facilities are available to students during the following times:-

8.10 a.m. - 8.30 a.m.
Breakfast - bacon rolls, croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurts

10.45 am. - 11.15 p.m.
All years have one 30 minute break during this time.
As a Snack Break serving baguettes, sandwiches, hot pasta meals, jacket potatoes, pasties, pizza, fruit and drink

12.20 p.m. - 2.05 p.m.
All years have a staggered meal break.

The canteen is open all day until 2.05 p.m. for Sixth Form students.

A set meal is available at second break. Also a salad bar, baguette bar and pasta bar and our Snack Shack serves hot food.
