At A-Level, the overall pass rate rose to 99%, which is a 0.4% increase on last year and continues the general upward trend. The figure is 1.5% higher than the national figure.
The girls' overall pass rate also improved from 98.5% to 99.2.
The percentage of students achieving A grades also increased from 16 to 19%.
The extended Project results were very impressive, with 39% of students gaining grades A*, A or B grades.
A number of subjects had very good grades, particularly, Drama, Chemistry and Media Studies.
At AS Level the overall pass rate increased from 2008 figure of 85.7% by 2.3% to 88%. This continues the upward trend over the last four years.
The boys improved from 81% to 88% but there was a slight decrease in the girls from 89% to 88%.
The percentage of students with A or B grades is 36% compared to 25% for 2008.
