When students are preparing to move up into a new year group, choices may need to be made regarding the subjects they will study next, for example at GCSE level. Choices Evenings will be arranged, at which students and their parents and carers can find out about the courses available. Teaching staff will be on hand to discuss the courses, and there will be text books to look at, and examples of current work from students currently studying the course.
Choices Evenings will be advertised as Events in the Calendar section of the website. If there is additional information of interest to parents and carers, this will be placed in the Parents and Carers' Room in the VLE.
These are meetings held regularly in school, to which parents and carers are invited to exchange ideas, share their views and concerns, and discuss any issues they feel are of relevance to their childrens' schooling. Forums are led by Heads of Year where possible, or their deputies. All parents and carers are welcome to attend forums for year groups of which their children are members. No appointment is necessary.
Parents' Forums will be advertised as Events in the Calendar section of the website. Notes will be taken during forums, and these will be placed in the Parents and Carers' Room in the VLE.
