Each month a Theme is chosen. Examples of themes are Equality, Resilience, Empathy, Community Cohesion...
At the start of Lesson 1 each day, a short period of time is given to consider the current week's "Idea".
Monday - Quotation. A quote that links closely with the monthly theme is chosen for the whole College. This is a time to discuss the meaning/relevance of the ITLB.
Tuesday - Global awareness (moral development). An opportunity to reflect on the theme in a wider context. A recent event or news article may be a good starting point.
Wednesday - Silent Reflection (spiritual development). A chance for students to personally reflect on the quote by closing their eyes or looking at an image.
Thursday - Student Speak (social development). An opportunity for students to lead discussions or activities that relate to the monthly theme.
Friday - Music for Reflection (cultural development). A time to finally reflect on the ITLB by in relation to the monthly theme, by listening to music provided by the Music department or other appropriate music chosen by the class or their teacher.
