The Hambly Centre, a new and attractive timber-framed building at the front of Callington Community College, is fully eco-sustainable. On the ground floor, known as "The Globe", there is a classroom and a conference room, while on the upper level there are conference rooms and meeting facilities which are a centre for Children and Family Services.
It is here that our recently appointed Integrated Services and Partnership Development Manager works with College staff in partnership with practitioners from Children, Schools and Families and health professionals. Together they are strengthening the links that the College already has with local agencies, as well as making new ones.
The official opening of the Hambly Centre, named after a long-serving school governor, Diana Hambly, will see a gathering of invited guests from the many agencies and partners that have been involved in the development of the Centre. These include Cornwall Council's Youth Services, Children Schools and Families, Cornwall Foundation Partnership Trust, health partners, head teachers from many local primary and secondary schools, local councillors, Mrs Diana Hambly and Callington's Mayor and Portreeve Mrs Karen Gold.
