Students enjoyed the visit of Sabina Rademacher, an International Business Consultant, who shared experiences about cultural differences and the importance of respecting and knowing these when it comes to being successful in the world of international work.
In addition to this, students competed in teams, mixed by gender, languages and schools to produce a successful marketing campaign for a laptop using posters, powerpoint presentations and even songs in French, German and Spanish! They learned a considerable amount of new sales and technical vocabulary and were assisted by a group of excellent and helpful GCSE and A level Callington students.
The event was a real success, getting everyone excited and enthusiastic about performing in a foreign language for a multilingual panel of judges.
The winning team, including students from different schools, had the opportunity to visit Exeter University and have a taste of university life. Languages undergraduates took students for a tour of the campus and explored with them the many exciting possibilities that language learning can bring.
