In the Sixth Form, students pursue their choices of GCE AS and A2 level or BTEC courses. In addition to lessons in the College, a number of work-related opportunities are available, and students are expected to study independently.
Due to our close links with Plymouth University, students in the Sixth Form receive practical help from University staff and students in preparing their applications and Personal Statements for UCAS.
Visitors are often invited to the College to talk to the Sixth Form students about career options, international links and world affairs. For example, in October 2010, Baroness Dean of Thornton-le-Fylde visited to discuss with the students her role in the House of Lords. Read about this here...
Using the Facility Login links to the right , our students can log onto the College Exchange email server from this site and to the school VLE.
Within the VLE there is a dedicated Sixth Form area as well as departmental libraries and individual classrooms for each of their subjects. Each department manages an area of the VLE where they put details of guided learning hours tasks as well as support and resources for lessons. Students access this using the same username and password they use to access the school network.
