All year groups, from Year 7 to the Sixth Form, took part in this trip, to Interlaken in Switzerland.
Students progressed well with their skiing, with even the beginners attempting red runs by the end of the holiday. There were no injuries, and everybody behaved well, showing great patience even when travel arrangements had to be altered.
The group, led by Mr Robertson (ICT), Mr Watts (Maths), Mr Wood (DT), Mrs Walker (Catering Manager) and Miss Parsons (Food Tech), skied on the Lauberhorn above Wengen, the longest downhill run in the world.
They also visited the "Top of Europe" - the highest railway station in Europe on the Jungfraujoch; and Piz Gloria, the famous revolving restaurant featured in the James Bond novel "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".
Dan and Leon (both Year 8) said:
"The trip was AMAZING! A great experience. Even people who haven't skied before learn really quickly. The view are amazing, the food is excellent, and the price low considering all the things you get to do. It only happens every 2 years, so grab the opportunity"
Judging by the hundreds of wonderful photos brought back by the group, a wonderful time was had by all! The next skiing trip will be in 2012.
